Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for your prayers and condolences during our time of bereavement. Christopher was blessed to have so many people who loved and cared about him. He was so full of life, always seeking the next challenge. Christopher lived by the motto “high risk equals high reward”; that is why when he was diagnosed with tracheal cancer, he did not hesitate to seek all and any treatment or cure. Christopher was a recipient and strong advocate of stem cell therapy. We do not want his journey to be in vain. His bravery has left such a great legacy paving the way for further research, development and acceptance of stem cell based therapies in the United States.
Our family would like to thank the many people who contributed to Christopher’s HelpHopeLive fund during his illness and after his death. With those funds, our family has been able to pay some of the debt incurred while in Stockholm and his funeral expenses. We want to thank Morgan State University, Dr. David Wilson- President, Dr. Carl White- Assoc. Dean School of Engineering, and the Morgan Choir who hosted Christopher’s public memorial service. We want to thank the Pennsylvania Avenue AME Zion Church, pastor Lester Agyei McCorn and Damon Dorsey for hosting Christopher’s private family service. We especially want to thank Vaughn Greene Funeral Services for overseeing both memorials. To everyone who donated his or her services to the family – you are a true blessing.
To Christopher’s personal friends (here and overseas) – we see Christopher in each one of you. You are our connection to him when you share your stories with us. Please continue to share and smile and laugh – Chris wouldn’t have it any other way.
It is extremely difficult to believe Christopher is no longer physically with us today. But Christopher lives on in all of us –in our memories and through our actions. So when you are faced with a challenge in life, think of Christopher and his trailblazing journey and maybe that will provide you the strength to face it head on – no regrets! Christopher will forever be in all of our hearts. We love you Chris!
